 The
Free Spirits Gospel Singers are an incredible example of
just what God can do in an incredibly short amount of
time. Folks, believe it or not, on June 12th, 2004,
Tim's wife Vickie (vocals / keyboards) was singing with
another Gospel group, while Tim (lead vocals) never sang a
note, but handled the booking for that group.
No one would have
suspected that just 10 weeks and a day later, the Lord would
have led Tim &
Vickie to start their own Gospel group (the
Free Spirits Gospel Singers), have Tim singing along with
(eventually) all three of Tim &
Vickie's daughters:
Kim,
Sherry (regularly late Ha-Ha) and Elizabeth, that
are incredible singers as well, and would be singing before a house full of folks on Sunday, August
22nd, 2004 at House of Praise in Sevierville, TN, and
literally leave all in attendance in awe and shaking their
head in disbelief of what sounded as if they had been singing
together for YEARS!
But the story does not
stop there...This group would sing nearly every single
Sunday from that night, seeing many souls saved, hundreds of
souls rededicated, the Lord not only 'making a way' for them to
receive a state-of-the-art
website, but within 17 weeks and a
day later, to 'open the door' that they would go to Gary
McVay's Gloryland Studios and record, produce, and have in
their hands, their first CD, which you will just have to
hear to believe! Also during these short 17 weeks they would
find themselves becoming members of the incredibly anointed
New Center Baptist Church in Sevierville, TN, where the Lord
not only led sister Melissa McGaha to join them on the Bass, but
get this, to have their Pastor Tony Sutton ALSO record the
song he was personally inspired to write AND SING: 'It's Not
Because...' on their
first CD (which may very well become a number one hit
nationwide)...BUT ALSO to 'set a precedent' amongst all of
Gospel music groups by dedicating their last track to God's
PLAN OF SALVATION (delivered by Pastor Tony
Sutton).
There has been countless
other acts of intervention of 'God's hand' upon Tim &
Vickie's lives since then, and maybe someday Tim will have
time to write a book on the first year of this groups
accomplishments...but don't hold your breath...they are
already turning away bookings due to folks wanting them BACK
for a second singing (some have already been done) along
with new bookings, amongst talk of folks ALREADY asking
about plans for a SECOND CD AND EVEN DVD REQUESTS!!!
One
final note: Tim &
Vickie, their family and the other
Free Spirit members were the inspiration to develop this site,
Internet Radio, and MORE...and we love each and every one of
them with all our heart, what a Blessing from our Lord that
they become as family to us! April also joined the group in
